We work with a wide range of clients homeowners, property developers, contractors, municipalities, boroughs, towns, and cities. Whether you need a residential septic design or a municipality-wide utility billing system, our team has the experience and licensing to get it done right.

How do I get started with ETS?

Getting started is simple. Call us at 609-861-7000 or email info@etsengineersconsulting.com. We’ll discuss your project, answer your questions, and outline the steps needed to move forward. Our office is open Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM.

Where is ETS located, and what areas do you serve?

Our office is located at 822 Washington Ave, Woodbine, NJ 08270. We serve clients throughout New Jersey, with deep expertise in South Jersey permitting environments including the Pinelands, coastal zones, and freshwater wetlands regulated under the NJ DEP.

Do I need a permit to install or replace a septic system in New Jersey?

Yes. All septic system installations, repairs, and replacements in New Jersey require permits through the local Board of Health and, in many cases, the NJ Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). ETS handles the entire design and permitting process on your behalf from soil testing and site evaluation through permit submission and approval.

How long does the septic permitting process take in NJ?

Timelines vary depending on the municipality and complexity of the project, but most residential septic permits take anywhere from 4 to 12 weeks. Projects in regulated zones such as the Pinelands or near coastal areas may take longer due to additional agency reviews. ETS helps expedite the process by submitting complete, accurate applications the first […]

Can ETS design a septic system for a commercial property?

Yes. We design septic systems for both residential and commercial properties. Commercial projects often require more complex designs and larger-scale permits, and our engineering team has extensive experience navigating those requirements throughout New Jersey.

What is a soil evaluation, and do I need one?

A soil evaluation (or perc test) determines whether your soil and site conditions can support a septic system. It’s required before a septic design can be approved. ETS coordinates and performs soil evaluations as part of our septic design services.

What is stormwater management design, and why does it matter?

Stormwater management design involves planning how rainwater runoff is controlled, directed, and treated on a property. Without proper design, runoff can cause erosion, flooding, water quality issues, and regulatory violations. ETS designs stormwater systems that meet NJ DEP standards and local municipal requirements.

Is stormwater management required for new construction in New Jersey?

Yes. Most new construction and significant site improvements in NJ require a Stormwater Management Plan as part of the permitting process. ETS prepares these plans in compliance with the NJ Stormwater Management Rules (N.J.A.C. 7:8).
